We can’t find help!
Well, with attitudes like these, it is no wonder, considering that a lot of people have lost everything recently.
So, when you say that you can only hire people with excellent credit, and our economy cratered, then you will only be able to hire people that did not lose their jobs, or those that weren’t already living paycheck to paycheck when the ???? hit the fan.
Hell, its no wonder that the HR departments can’t find help.
I’m beginning to believe that they couldn’t find their ??? with both hands.
Jeffrey Slebodnick was hired last summer to work as an adjunct professor at a technical college.
He had a master’s degree, excellent recommendations, and no criminal record.
credit report/ job interview“I was given four classes and I was excited to start the term,” said Slebodnick, 47, from Perry, Mich. who teaches geography.
“But a week after I was offered the job I got a call asking if I had any student loans, which I did, and when I planned on paying them,” he said.
Slebodnick says he was told he would not be allowed to start work at an ITT campus in Michigan, because a credit check revealed he had some $50,000 in outstanding student loans and had recently declared bankruptcy.
“He told me they wouldn’t hire someone who defaults on student loans. It was a shocker to get that phone call and get those classes pulled from me.”

Is anybody else seeing this pattern here?
For instance, you have to have car insurance to drive, yet car insurance companies can refuse you if you have bad credit.
You have to have good credit to get a job, yet when we go through times like the last six months, they can refuse to give you a job.
For what it’s worth, I personally still believe that things are going to get worse because the people that buy all of the World’s goods are still being put out of work via offshoring, layoff’s, etc. or whats even worse is they are only finding jobs that pay substantially less then what they were making before which gives the illusion that they are employed and able to contribute to society, where in reality, they are unable to do anything except pay for the necessities in life.
Out of curiosity, how many other double standards are there that I’m not aware of?
