What did 1997 and 2005 do to the Middle Class?
Print This Post
Lets look at 1997
Not too much different from 1996, so it didn’t start here, although it does appear that the Middle Class and Rich increased 1% and the Working Poor increased 2% over 1996
But take a look at that jump in the Working Poor between 2006 and 2007.
Folks, that is when the subprime mortgage crisis actually started and it wasn’t caused by subprime mortgages, but by jobs being sent offshore.
Still pretty evenly spaced out, isn’t it?
But lets take a look at the 2005 charts before making any decisions.
Now lets look at the dollars for 2005
Lets look at the percentages first
- 1996
- 78% – Working Poor
- 17% – Middle Class
- 5% – Rich
- 1997
- 76% – Working Poor
- 18% – Middle Class
- 6% – Rich
- 2005
- 67% – Working Poor
- 22% – Middle Class
- 11% Rich
- 2006
- 52% – Working Poor
- 31% – Middle Class
- 17% – Rich
- 2007
- 65% – Working Poor
- 22% – Middle Class
- 13% – Rich
Now lets look at the dollars
- 1996
- 1,810,050,573,000 – Working Poor
- 1,370,196,416,000 – Middle Class
- 1,410,280,305,000 – Rich
- 1997
- 1,832,228,155,000 – Working Poor
- 1,478,927,407,000 – Middle Class
- 1,712,301,479,000 – Rich
- 2005
- 1,879,084,129 – Working Poor
- 2,028,145,561 – Middle Class
- 3,600,729,001 – Rich
- 2006
- 1,298,999,000,000 – Working Poor
- 2,044,851,000,000 – Middle Class
- 4,101,203,000,000 – Rich
- 2007
- 1,614,563,380,900 – Working Poor
- 2,210,446,241,000 – Middle Class
- 4,640,225,550,000 – Rich
Something happened in 2006 and I sure would like to know exactly what it was.
I believe that it was the year that the offshoring of jobs reached critical mass, but I can’t prove it without being able to go through all of the corporations income statements and balance sheets and when I’m trying to keep the electricity on with no income to help, that is way out of my league, unless of course one of you wants to fund my research.
If not, its up to the Mainstream Media, better known as the Tokyo Rose Propaganda Group and I don’t really believe they will step up to the plate because they sure as hell haven’t so far.
