The U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, through the Department of Commerce, announced today that total September exports of $132.0 billion and imports of $168.4 billion resulted in a goods and services deficit of $36.5 billion, up from $30.8 billion in August, revised

Lets take a look at the rest of the story as Paul Harvey would say
Lets turn to Table 3 where it breaks down the Exports of U.S. Services by Major Category and we find the following.
The top 3 categories are:
- Other Private Services at 46%
- Travel at 19%
- Royalties and License fees at 16%
Now lets look at the Imports by turning to table 4
The top 3 categories are:
- Other private services at 41%
- Travel at 20%
- Transportation at 15%
Now lets turn to table 6 and show the exports by commodity
The top 3 categories are:
- Capital Goods at 38%
- Industrial Supplies at 28%
- Consumer Goods at 14%
Now lets look at the imports by commodity
The top 3 categories are:
- Industrial Supplies at 29%
- Consumer Goods at 28%
- Capital Goods at 24%
Now lets take a look at the Exports of Foods, Feeds, and Beverages
The top 3 categories are:
- Meat and Poultry at 13%
- Soybeans at 13%
- Corn at 13%
Now lets take a look at the Exports of Industrial Supplies and Materials
The top 3 categories are:
- Fuel Oil at 9%
- Plastic Materials at 9%
- Chemicals Organic and Petroleum Products tied at 8%
Now lets take a look at the Exports of Capital Goods, Except Automotive
The top 3 categories are:
- Semiconductors at 10%
- Civilian Aircraft at 9%
- Industrial Machines, Other at 9%
Now lets take a look at the Exports of Consumer Goods
The top 3 categories are:
- Pharmaceutical Preprarations at 28%
- Other Household Goods at 11%
- Gem Diamonds at 8%
Now lets take a look at the Imports of Foods, Feeds, and Beverages by turning to Table 8
The top 3 categories are:
- Fish and Shellfish at 15%
- Fruits and Frozen Juices at 13%
- Other Foods at 11%
Now lets take a look at the Imports of Industrial Supplies and Materials
The top 3 categories are:
- Crude Oil at 46%
- Fuel Oil at 7%
- Petroleum Products at 5%
Looks Like Ole T. Boone Pickens is dead on regarding this area.
All I can say is shame on America when we have our own resources in this area and the money we send over there to buy these products is money better spent here at home.
Now lets take a look at the Imports of Capital Goods, except Automotive
The top 3 categories are:
- Computer Accessories at 16%
- Computers at 10%
- Telecommunications equipment at 10%
Now lets take a look at the Imports of Consumer Goods
The top 3 categories are:
- Pharmaceutical Preparations at 19%
- Other Household Goods at 13%
- Apparel, Household Goods – Cotton at 10%
Now lets take a look at the Exports of Advanced Technology Products
The top 3 categories are:
- Aerospace at 31%
- Information and Communications at 28%
- Electronics at 17%
Now lets take a look at the Imports of Advanced Technology Products
The top 3 categories are:
- Information and Communications at 56%
- Life Science at 12%
- Aerospace and Opto-Electronics tied at 9%
Should be obvious why I can no longer find work in the Information and Communications Field.

Now lets look at the Exports of Autos
The top 3 countries are:
- Canada at 47%
- Other at 19%
- Mexico at 18%
Now lets take a look at the Imports of Autos
The top 3 countries are:
- Mexico at 25%
- Canada at 25%
- Japan at 21%
