Lets talk about Nancy Pelosi, Jobs and Human Dignity
I had an interesting conversation with a cousin in Germany yesterday and he brought up the topic of Human Dignity because apparently they are going through what we are going through here in America in Germany.
For that I feel for him because I wouldn’t wish what I have experienced since 2003 on my worst enemy.
What does Human Dignity consist of?
To me it would mean:
- The ability to provide a living for my family and a roof over their head where they didn’t have to worry about going without the essentials or living in a neighborhood of drug dealers, thieves and rapists
Now what would that cost?
Based on a family of three or so, I believe it would cost about 50,000 dollars per household if each of you drove used cars and did not incur large medical expenses.
For instance, at the current time I seem to average around 27,000 for the last several years and I am not making it and I mention this because I believe many others are not making it, maybe as many as 30 million people out of 154 million people that would normally be employed.
Speaking of jobs and Nancy Pelosi and no, I shouldn’t single her out but I am going to do so because:
- her state is teetering on the brink of insolvency, yet she continues to spend, refuses to let us utilize our countries resources and vainly mentions that she wants jobs for everybody by Christmas, so she is going to try and pass a road building bill.
Problem with that, and one I’m sure that she wouldnt know about is that a 24,000 road job, if you can get it, won’t take care of your family which makes me realize how really out of touch with reality the rich are, and by rich, I mean anybody that makes over 100,000 per year and yes, I once was there, but I have never lost touch with what my friends and neighbors are going through, probably because I didn’t isolate myself behind gated estate walls where I couldn’t see the common folks.
Why am I writing this article?
I see and hear all kinds of finger pointing going on among our representatives, denial from Geithner and the Media that defends him, especially on CNBC and lots of trash talk, but no plan.
So I, as a commoner, and even though I realize it is not my place, nor will the people mentioned above listen, or even consider, am going to put forth a plan because that is what I do.
I take a problem situation and I develop a solution.
Here is the problem:
- 30 million people out of 154 million people are out of work
- This is devastating the budgets of our towns, counties, states and federal government.
- We are dependent on other countries for our materials and petroleum products.
Here is what our representatives are doing to solve the problem:
- ramming through a health care bill
Here is the solution:
- immediately require that all companies identify on their quarterly and annual balance sheets
- Payroll (CONUS)
- Payroll (OCONUS)
- Contractor or Consultant Labor or Fees (CONUS)
- Contractor or Consultant Labor or Fees (OCONUS)
- Immediately halt all 1042-S Tax Exemptions
- Immediately start taxing all companies sending work offshore on the qty of jobs they have sent offshore times the prevailing market rate stateside for each job category and if they do not provide pertinent information regarding the job category, simply tax them on a salary of 100,000 times the qty of jobs they have sent offshore
- Immediately bring the minimum wage up to a rate where each person makes a minimum wage of 25,000 per year (This way a couple will make 50,000 per year)
- If you divide 25,000 by 52 weeks you get 480.77 per week.
- If you divide 480.77 per week by 40 hours you get 12.02 as a minimum wage for each state
- The tax above will bring home our jobs and reopen our manufacturing plants and re-establish the quality standards we have that China and India do not.
- Immediately open the drilling for oil on any public, non-state or federal park land to our Oil Drillers along with the standard fees.
- Immediately subsidize our refinery companies if necessary to produce our own fuel
- Immediately give each recipient of TARP funds 1 month to begin a mutually agreeable repayment plan
- If they can’t, or won’t do this, force them into bankruptcy so that the equipment and assets can be liquidated and somebody that will run a profitable company can take advantage of their poor management that destroyed the company that they were entrusted to run.
These are not all of the things that I would want to see be done, but they will fix our immediate problems before Christmas if implemented tomorrow.
Now I ask you, what has Nancy Pelosi, or any other representative done for you other then give the banks all of your money?
